The member of the Political Bureau and head of the Economic Affairs Commission of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Tran Tuan Anh, today urged American companies to continue expanding their businesses and investments in the Indochinese country, while strengthening the bilateral cooperation in sectors of mutual interest.
The official made such a statement when he met today virtually with a delegation from the United States-ASEAN Business Council ( USABC ), which includes representatives from almost 40 firms in the North American country.
At the meeting, Tuan Anh appreciated the messages from the United States in support of a strong, independent and prosperous Vietnam, and thanked the Government and people of that nation for their support to Hanoi in terms of access to vaccines and resources to respond to COVID -19.

The Party and the State of Vietnam attach great importance to relations with the United States and consider it one of their main partners, he reaffirmed, appreciating USABC’s efforts to support American companies to overcome challenges and continue to promote business ties and investment with the countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in the current pandemic situation.
Vietnam is willing to create favorable conditions for US companies to overcome the obstacles and impacts of the coronavirus and continue to maintain their production and investment activities in the country, he stressed.
Tuan Anh also shared issues related to Vietnam’s socio-economic development institutions and policies and listened to recommendations and proposals from US companies .
For their part, the USABC delegates expressed their impression of the efforts of the Southeast Asian country in the fight against the pandemic, as well as its determination to restore economic development to the new normal.
In that sense, they pledged to continue accompanying and closely coordinating with the Vietnamese Party and Government to actively promote bilateral ties in the economy, trade and investment in a profound, effective and substantive manner, in accordance with the aspirations and interests of both parties.
